How Are You Healing?

Stumbled upon this illustration by Mari Andrew this morning. I think it's important to share because "healing" can be such a vague word, especially when you hear it over and over again. It tends to lose its meaning when you're in the thick of it. If you're open to a fresh perspective, you can reignite your motivation to heal those heavy spaces in your heart.

Do you relate to any of these concepts?

Or do they feel foreign to you? Are you open to the idea of feeling at home in your body or becoming friends with your mind?

It might be worth taking a few seconds right now to check in with yourself — where do these concepts fall in line for you? Are you noticing any push back or resistance? What would it feel like to be open to these feelings? What would it feel like to FEEL them, do you think? Can you imagine yourself there?

When I imagine each of these synonyms for healing, I can literally feel my heart lifting — that space in the center of my chest (the heart chakra) lightens up and expands. I am feeling especially grateful because I recognize that years ago, none of these concepts aligned with me. Today, they all do (well, maybe aside from the "trusting the world as safe" in lieu of recent events, but I'm working on that one).

I'm taking a few minutes to honor how incredible it feels to finally be able to hold my memories instead of cringing at them, to feel at home in my body, and to feel like my mind is on my side, not against me. And I'm taking a few minutes to honor the journey that led me to this moment of gratitude. If any of these resonate with you, take a moment to honor them. It's RARE to align with these concepts. It's SPECIAL. And above all, it's healthy.

Honor your journey, no matter how easy or difficult it has been, because it is yours.
