Why somatic?

Imagine being hunted by a lion. What part of your body tells you to run first? No, it’s not your brain. It’s your heart-rate—the fear that tightens your chest, the adrenaline that pumps through your veins. This is what triggers your brain to think, “run.”

Our felt experience happens so rapidly, we often think our brains beat it to the punch. Not the case. The way you think is contingent on the way you feel. So if you’re looking to change the way you think, you need to explore how new ways of thinking can feel in the body. You need to associate feeling with thought.

Journeying in a meditative state allows your somatic self + subconscious self to create new neural pathways (new ways of thinking) that stick.
